Sustainability in the Security Industry
Implementing sustainable strategies is imperative within any industry or company to ensure we are leaving a positive impact on both the environment and our social society. In addition to driving social and environmental change, sustainability initiatives can contribute to an organization's overall success. As a local security company based in the Lower Mainland, we care about our people, clients, and communities and the impact that we have – and will leave. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not a new term; however, it is one that is continually top-of-mind for us as we explore business opportunities, work with new clients and identify how we can make a positive impact in our community.
As security experts, we create customized security strategies and solutions for our clients to meet their security needs and, along the way, we look for innovative ways to move our company forward whilst ensuring CSR is at the heart of our security operations. We take what we do seriously and we believe that we are more than a security company.
IntercomLux Security’s CSR Strategy
When we think about our CSR, and the strategy that entails, we’re not only looking at the ways in which we can ensure we are committing to sustainable practices for our security services, we also are dedicated to improving employee wellbeing and focused on supporting various philanthropic initiatives in the communities that we live and work. We have a three-pronged CSR strategy, focusing on sustainability, employee welfare and philanthropic initiatives as delineated below:
Sustainability
Our company is proud to source all of our operations here within Canada in an effort to curb emissions while attempting to keep our local economy strong. From our uniform attire to our radios, security software, and equipment, we pride ourselves on utilizing local or Canada-made brands.
Employee Relations
We value our employees’ feedback and we always aim to ensure that we are cultivating an environment that facilitates transparency and an open-door policy; all communication between managers and their direct reports is a two-way stream to provide opportunities for candid feedback to be received. At IntercomLux, we pride ourselves on the success and development of our professionals and we have promoted many of our employees to lead teams and are constantly seeking out professional and personal development opportunities for our team.

Philanthropy
At IntercomLux, we are more than a security company. As a locally founded company, we believe in our social impact and what we can do to support the community in which we, and our clients, operate within.
