Mental Health Advocacy & Awareness
As a local security company with deep roots in our community, we believe in our social impact and recognize that we have a duty to share helpful and educational resources when and where we can. In the security industry in Vancouver, we have the opportunity to work with people from all different backgrounds and are acutely aware of the mental health crisis that we are facing in BC – and Canada, as a whole. As we approach the end of mental health awareness month, we’re sharing detailed information on local mental health resources that are available to our communities so that no one feels alone.
Every May, we aim to raise awareness around mental health and share resources on where to get help if needed. The theme for 2022 is “This is Empathy” where Canadians are encouraged to #GetReal about how to help themselves and others surrounding mental health challenges. When we stop polarizing and start empathizing, are there for each other when times are hard, and ready to listen, the world gets a little bit easier to navigate.
Established in 2005, the BC Mental Health Foundation is a provincial fundraising organization which supports BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services, part of the Provincial Health Services Authority. The BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services provides high-quality care every day to vulnerable British Columbians struggling with the most severe mental health and substance use issues.
The foundation raises funds and awareness in support of our many programs, services and research initiatives to help make sure people have access to the mental health and addiction treatment and resources they need.

Canadian Mental Health Association
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) was established in 1918 and is the most established, most extensive community mental health organization in Canada. The CMHA is a federated charity that works to identify and respond to Canada’s most pressing mental health priorities. At the community level, millions of people in Canada rely on CMHA’s extensive grassroots presence.

Coast Mental Health Foundation
As a Vancouver-based non-profit, with a community and client-based approach, Coast Mental Health Foundation raises and stewards funds to open the door for transformative change and growth in the lives of people living with mental illness. With support from donors and other partners, Coast Mental Health has been helping people find that courage since 1972. Funds raised through the Foundation are used to innovate and pilot new approaches to community-based mental health care to offer the best possible options to those that need them most.
